What do you think are the main causes of crime?
How can we deal with those crimes?

      • Supporting idea: 
        • Doing work is the only way to earn money and buy commodities, and in many places, people can not sustain their lives as they are unemployed.

      • Example: In South Africa, the unemployment rate is one of the highest in the world, standing at around 27% in 2022. This high unemployment rate has been a major contributing factor to the country's high crime rate.
    • Main idea 2: Another reason is is the increasing gap between the rich and the poor.
      • Supporting idea: One good illustration of this is that the people who are in dire need are bound to steal for their livelihood. 
      • Example: The widening wealth gap in Brazil, reflected in a Gini coefficient of 0.54, where the richest 1% controls about 48% of the country's wealth, serves as a real-life example linking high inequality to increased crime rates. A study published in the Latin American Research Review in 2017 revealed a strong positive correlation, indicating that for every 0.1 increase in the Gini coefficient, there was a 0.5% increase in crime.

        • The poor would not be compelled to do misdeeds to fulfill their basic necessities.

    • Main idea 2: The government of the nations should devise proper programs to alleviate poverty and also should pass strict law in order to reduce crime rate. 
      • Supporting idea: 
        • Poverty is often considered a root cause of crime. 
        • By implementing programs to alleviate poverty, governments can address the underlying socio-economic factors that contribute to criminal activities.
