Swiss law allows citizens to own guns for various purposes, including self-defense and sport shooting. Despite the high prevalence of firearms, Switzerland has relatively low crime rates.

      • Example: In the United States, where gun ownership is relatively widespread and regulations vary across states, there have been instances of gun thefts and illegal trafficking contributing to an increased availability of firearms in the hands of criminals.
